What is the PPSC GOLD PROGRAM?
PPSC GOLD is our newest and best group purchasing program. It offers discounts, rebates, cash bonuses and other special values to PPSC Group Purchasing Members that join or upgrade to PPSC GOLD. This program is exclusively available to PPSC Group Purchasing Members that use AmerisourceBergen as their primary wholesaler and meet other GOLD Program participation criteria.

Who is eligible to become a PPSC GOLD PHARMACY?
Any retail pharmacy may become a PPSC GOLD Pharmacy if they meet the following criteria:

  1. Join the PPSC Group Purchasing Program by completing a PPSC Group Purchasing Program Agreement (OR) currently belong to the PPSC Group Purchasing Program
  2. Sign a PPSC Buying Group Designation Form stipulating that they will purchase 90% of their merchandise, at least $50,000 per month in pharmaceutical products, from AmerisourceBergen
  3. Become a credit approved AmerisourceBergen account.

Why must a pharmacy buy 90% of their products from AmerisourceBergen?
In order for pharmacies to receive all of the preferred programs, prices, discounts, rebates and other special values available under the PPSC GOLD Program, AmerisourceBergen and PPSC must receive the majority (90%) of the pharmacies purchases. Receiving the committed volume of a large number of PPSC pharmacies allows AmerisourceBergen and PPSC to pass along savings and values to each and every PPSC GOLD Pharmacy.

Who is AmerisourceBergen?
AmerisourceBergen is the nation's largest pharmaceutical services company in the United States dedicated solely to the pharmaceutical supply chain. It is the leading distributor of pharmaceutical products and services to the independent community pharmacy market. With more than $50 billion in annualized operating revenue, AmerisourceBergen is headquarterd in Valley Forge, PA, and employs more than 11,500 people. PPSC chose AmerisourceBergen as its sole drug wholesaler

Is there a charge to join the PPSC GOLD Program?
PPSC will waive the $100 enrollment fee for a limited time as an incentive for pharmacies to join PPSC GOLD . There is no charge for current members of the PPSC Group Purchasing Program to upgrade their membership status to PPSC GOLD.

How does a pharmacy qualify for the wholesaler conversion payment and when will the payment be given?
There are two wholesaler PPSC GOLD REWARDS conversion payments available to pharmacies for becoming a PPSC/AmerisourceBergen GOLD Pharmacy depending on their current purchasing status. Not every pharmacy may qualify. The criteria are as follows:

  1. $1,000 payment is available to any pharmacy that becomes a PPSC/AmerisourceBergen GOLD Pharmacy if they have not done business with AmerisourceBergen during the past 12 months. So pharmacies using McKesson, Cardinal or drug wholesalers other than AmerisourceBergen can qualify. The pharmacy must continue their PPSC and AmerisourceBergen GOLD status for at least 12 months. If they discontinue their GOLD membership the member will be asked to return a pro-rated amount of the payment they received or lose valuable rebates and other values up to amount of the prorated payment.
  2. $500 payment is available to pharmacies that already have an account with AmerisourceBergen within 30 days of becoming a primary AmerisourceBergen account and having met the purchase requirements if the following conditions are met:
    1. The “upgraded” account must buy at least double his average monthly gross purchases
    2. The minimum monthly doubled volume amount is $50,000
    3. The account must remain a PPSC/AmerisourceBergen GOLD pharmacy for a full 12 months, or the pharmacy will return a pro-rated amount of the $500 payment received.
    4. The pharmacy is not a member in another buying group that AmerisourceBergen has paid a similar conversion allowance on behalf of the pharmacy within the past 12 months.

Explain the merger of the PPSC Pharmacy Select and AmerisourceBergen ProGenerics generic programs.
In order to give GOLD pharmacies the widest selection of generics available, at the best prices and rebates, we merged PPSC's Pharmacy Select and AmerisourceBergen's ProGenericseric contracts. Whenever you place a generic order you will automatically be sent the lowest price AmerisourceBergen ProGenericseric item. If for some reason the ProGenerics product is not available, you'll be sent PPSC's lowest priced Pharmacy Select generic. If both items are not available you'll be sent the next lowest price generic. You will also receive great generic rebates from PPSC and AmerisourceBergen based on your purchases.

How often will I receive generic rebates from PPSC and ABC?
You will receive up to 6% quarterly rebate from PPSC based on your Pharmacy Select generic purchases. AmerisourceBergen will issue quarterly rebates in the form of an invoice credit based on the following formula:

If a pharmacy's ABC ProGenerics generic purchases represent between 5% to 10% or more of the pharmacy's total pharmaceutical purchases, the pharmacy can earn between 3% to 8% rebate credits as shown below:

I understand PPSC is offering free PPSC National Network enrollments. How does a pharmacy enroll?
Call our toll-free Customer Service Help Desk at 1-888-778-9909 and ask one of our Customer Service Representatives for a PPSC National Network Enrollment Form. PPSC will waive the $100 enrollment fee for all PPSC GOLD Pharmacies.

How will I know what PPSC GOLD can save my pharmacy?
Along with the immediate savings a pharmacy will see on their AmerisourceBergen invoices, PPSC will send each PPSC GOLD Pharmacy a personalized GOLD REWARDS SAVINGS STATEMENT each quarter. This statement will detail rebates, discounts and savings achieved during the past quarter through the PPSC GOLD Program.
